Trump says ‘100%’ ready to shut down Mexico border

WASHINGTON, April 3, 2019 (BSS/AFP) – President Donald Trump said Tuesday he is “100 percent” prepared to close down the US-Mexico border, warning Congress and Central American governments to take action to stem the flow of migrants into the country. Delays were already rising at several key border crossings as Trump ratcheted up pressure on Democrats in Congress to toughen US laws against illegal immigrants, threatening to hurt the US economy in the name of border security. “It is a national emergency on the border,” Trump said. The prime minister made the appeal while opening and laying foundation stones of 65 uplift schemes, including 24 economic zones, through a video conference from her official residence Ganobhaban here. “Don’t hike the price of essentials including oil, onion, pulse and sugar during the month of Ramadan as the people could practice roza (fasting) in a good manner,” she told the businessmen at the function.
